Telegram Unveils Advanced Rich Text Editor
Telegram is fundamentally changing how we write messages. CEO Pavel Durov has officially announced the rollout of a brand-new Rich Text Editor for the platform, bringing a suite of document-grade formatting tools directly into your chat interface.
Taking to his official Telegram channel, Durov shared a preview of the new visual editor and made a bold declaration regarding the update: "Messaging apps will never be the same!"
What’s Included in the New Editor?
According to the announcement, the new Rich Text Editor moves far beyond basic bold and italic text. It is specifically designed for writing blogs, articles, and long posts directly within Telegram. The major July 2026 update introduces native support for:
Structured Formatting: Add proper headings, block quotes, and nested lists to organize long-form thoughts.
Tables & Formulas: Users can now insert fully formatted tables natively into their messages. These tables can support up to 20 columns. You can also add complex mathematical formulas natively.
Inline Media: You can seamlessly add photos and videos right in the middle of a text block.
AI Content Generation: The editor integrates privacy-conscious AI tools. These tools, powered by Cocoon, can help users automatically generate text, tables, or formulas on the fly.
This update allows users to send massive blocks of structured content, pushing the limit up to an incredible 32,768 characters in a single message. Currently, the Rich Text Editor is available exclusively to Telegram Premium users.

A Massive Upgrade for Channels and Content Creators
This rich formatting is not just for manual typing in small group chats. For channel administrators, bot developers, and content creators, this is an absolute game-changer. Bots can now respond with rich text, packing a lot of content into a single message with a "Show More" button after the first 8,000 characters. Channels can now publish highly readable, visually appealing posts that look much more like native web articles than simple text messages. Whether you are formatting a quick data table or publishing a comprehensive travel guide, Telegram's new Rich Text Editor is pushing the boundaries of what a modern messaging app can achieve.
